The Triple-Bean contrast stitching gives a lovely highlight and shaping to the gown.  However, if you prefer not to include the contrast stitching, you can either sew it out using the same color as the Satin Stitching or you can omit the stitching altogether.  This choice gives you even more control over how much detail you want with your appliques.

SILVER APPLES GOLDEN PEARS Machine Embroidery Applique Design Pattern

Easy to sew-out  using metallic threads, this Apple and Pear range looks wonderful on Christmas table-linen!

Add Silver Apples or Golden Pears to Christmas napkins, stockings or applique them onto your kitchen apron.

This design range features an inner stitch of Triple-Bean against the Satin Stitch edge to bring an added luxuriousness to your sew-out.

This design also looks lovely done in their traditional colors of red apples and green pears and you can use it all year round adorning childrens garments, placemats or other homeware items.

NB, the apple designs are purposefully slightly shorter than the pear to add balance when placed on the same item.

HINT:  Are you of the opinion that metallic threads aren't worth the bother?  When using metallic threads, do you find your thread kinks and twists as it comes off the cone?  I had the same problems until I recently tried something different...

Unravel a few meters of the thread and lay it out in a line extending to your embroidery machine.  If your sewing room is upstairs, simply drape the thread down the stairs.  I find the extra distance the thread has to travel almost entirely eliminates the twisting and the kinking.  If you haven't estimated the amount correctly, simply unravel more thread and backspace your machine to just before where it ran out and you will have a barely noticable overlap.  Let me know if this tip solves your problem - I'd love to know.

Brrr...  Snow has come early to some parts of the US.  How much fun do children have building a snowman!

I've named this design after the song about a snowman who comes to life by the placement of a magical hat found by some children, with whom he shares playful adventures before he has to "hurry on his way" (before he melts). 

At the end of their adventures together, the children are saddened by Frosty leaving, however, he reassures them by exclaiming, "I'll be back again some day."

In keeping with tradition, this snowman wears only his magical hat.  The design features a triple-bean inner edge stitch lining his body and his hat to add interest and bring light to the stitching.  His branch arms and twig hands are very nature-like as is his carrot nose.

Halloween has passed us by and now the shopping centres are busily putting up Christmas decorations.  The sight of them certainly does lift my spirits.  I do think it's my favorite time of year.  An enduring symbol of Christmas is a sprig of holly with it's bright red berries. 

My newest design is called CHRISTMAS HOLLY.  You've seen it here before?  Yes, I couldn't help but borrow it from my Christmas Plum Pudding design since it looks delightful on its own.  The sizings for the design are different from the Christmas Plum Pudding where they are quite a bit smaller.

CARNIVAL BANNER Machine Embroidery Applique Design Pattern...

Going to the circus was a memorable event for me.  We lived in a country town and when the circus came to town (or drove through it on its way to a bigger town) it was very exciting indeed.  We recently took our son to the circus and it brought back long forgotten childhood memories.  It was a great treat for all of us.

The Carnival Banner piece has been designed with the circus in mind.  The festoon area below is where you can use the brightest, stripiest fabric you have in your stash.  Personalize the banner with fonts you already own or use the fonts in your embroidery machine.

Pictured above is a sew-out I've done using the 4x4 hoop - each banner piece measures 3.93" x 2.81".  There are 5 sizes - 4", 5", 6", 7" and 8".  The banner pieces slide onto ribbon 5/8" wide and feature a contrast stitch of Triple Bean outlining the Satin Stitch edge which gives you a quality look.
